The making of…
Cincia always wants to achieve perfection in her original work of art. That’s one of the reasons that the making of just one sculpture requires many hours and a lot of patience, as well as a slow approach. The availability of the offered sculptures is limited.
It took one year of studies and experiments to achieve the present results. On a big screen you can see some results of Cincia’s experiments and the growth to the final results.
- First, she makes a body by hand, like a pinch pot on which she places the spines. This is an accurate work that must be done at the right moment. It requires a high level of concentration and nothing may go wrong
- Afterwards the sculpture will be baked in the oven for approximately 24 hours.
- After baking at a high temperature of 1250 degrees the work is still delicate but the fragility has been significantly reduced.
Natural & silver plated sculptures
Cincia’s personal preference goes to natural sculptures because of their pure character. If desired she can also glaze them in a colour of your liking. Cincia also offers silver plated sculptures, a paste she applies like a glaze. After baking 99.9 % silver remains. The procedure will be continued by polishing. At the end the look goes from high gloss to pearly, depending on the amount of polishing (partially or totally). Finally, she gives the sculpture a spray finish to protect it from environmental influences.
The sculpture can be shipped or picked up, according to your wishes.
